COMO É VIAJAR DE TREM: AS DIFERENÇAS ENTRE PRIMEIRA E SEGUNDA CLASSE NA AUSTRÁLIA. VALE A PENA?

We are going to show you how it is to travel by train here in Australia… We are going to stay in the train for more than ten hours… Good morning everyone! We’re starting a new day!

And this day is special, because we are going to show you how it is to travel by train in Australia. We are in Cairns, state of Queensland. There is a very special route from here that covers the entire state. It goes from the North, here in Cairns, to the South, there in Brisbane,

And lasts more than twenty-four hours. However, this time we’re not going to the end of it. We are going until the Whitsundays region, where there are beautiful islands and the most beautiful white sand beach in the world. We are going to stay in the train for more than ten hours.

What is it like to travel by train here in Australia? That’s what we’re going to show you. As the trip is long, we are having a really good breakfast before leaving. We are staying at Shangri-La Hotel, because it is next to the marina.

The breakfast is wonderful, and we decided to stay here because we have done many things from this marina. We even went to the Great Barrier Reef, to dive and sleep close to it. If you haven’t watched this video yet, click here.

It is fantastic, and you can also find out more about this hotel. So, if you like trains, like Australia, and want to follow all of this, leave your like in our vídeo. If you are not subscribed to our channel, subscribe now, and when you finish the video, share with friends.

Let’s have this fantastic breakfast, and then go straight to the train. This is the first class, called Rail Bed, which is literally your seat that turns into a bed. After all, the journey is long. It is like the executive class of an airline. The seats are very different.

Just like any good first class, this one includes several additional services. There is a very big TV and a remote control system, for you to enjoy the trip, that can last twenty-four hours, almost twenty-five, in case you travel the whole route. The inclination of the seat during the day, is 35 degrees.

At night it becomes a flat bed, but only the employees do it. They come here and arrange everything. They provide pillows, bed sheets, blankets and everything else. Fantastic trip, right? All of this is quite new, because the Spirit of Queensland was introduced in Australia in 2013.

This is where ordinary people travel! At least it’s where we stay, right Tiago? Always! We showed you how it is over there, but this is where we stay! But it’s comfortable and spacious. We are ready for the long trip.

We have a pillow, lots of food and drinks, and there is a blanket on every seat, It can be cold. In case you are spending the night, or if you just want to sleep, it’s good to have a blanket. And earphones, to enjoy and relax, right Tiago? Music is always good!

There are many things available for you here, such as on-board services and power outlets. We’ill show everything in detail. Let’s start with this chair. The space here is quite large. There’s a seat pocket here. This magazine has a menu with everything you can buy during your trip.

For breakfast you can buy two slices of toasted bread for $3, croissant for $5.50, fruit salad for $4. There are several options for lunch from $4, but most of them cost $9.50. Some sandwiches, wraps and salads from $5.50 to $8.50. There is the table, like in planes, to put food and drinks.

There are two outlets, one for each seat, and also a USB socket. During a long trip like this, there are some stops along the way. Now we’re in Innisfail. I’m going to show on the map exactly where we are. During these stops you can get off the train.

Some of them are short, just two or five minutes, but you can walk around the station a little, stretch your legs, and then get back to the train. You can do this without any problem. This is what we’re going to do now. It’s narrow here! Look, how cool! We are at the bar.

There are many tables and sofas for you to relax. As it’s a long trip, you may not want to be on your seat all the time. Instead, you may want to have a drink somewhere else, or stretch your legs. Just go to the bar. And this is the kitchen.

This stop is called Tully. The Spirit of Queensland goes from Cairns to Brisbane, and vice versa, five times a week. Along the trip, many factors can change for how long the train will stay in each station, like for instance, if the train is late, early, on time, if it is raining.

It changes a lot, so, pay attention to the ads, or the train can go away without you. We brought a lot of snacks. Even though, we bought a pizza, which costs $9, and two soft drinks, $3 each, everything for $15. It’s three-fifteen in the afternoon. Now we’re here in Townsville.

This is another important stop. The train stays here for about ten minutes, so it’s another opportunity to stretch the legs and walk a little along the platform. It’s time to go back inside, because the train is about to leave.

Now I want to show you this space in front of me, between the passengers cars. You can see the passengers car back here. I’ll turn the camera and show you. On the right side there is a unissex shower.

On the left side there is a drinking fountain. And here there is a space to put your bags. If you want, you can dispatch your bags and pick them up only at the destination. But, if you prefer, you can bring them with you and leave them in these compartments.

Let me show you the train lavatory. It is much bigger than the airplane lavatory, there is much space here, even for tall people. Look at the details. The washbasin is in the corner, with the soap dispenser here. The toilet is over here. This sign over here means that this bathroom has everything,

After all, this trip can last more than 24 hours. This is an accessible bathroom, for wheelchairs too. And there is a shower, you can take a shower here, while travelling. It is very spacious, because it’s necessary to have space for a wheelchair to go inside and move around.

Of course, we look through the window all the time to try to see something different, and I need to tell you that I saw one kangaroo. The journey is long, and we’ve been traveling for eight hours now. I wish I had seen more, but so far, I’ve seen only one kangaroo, very quickly.

I think the train noise frightened him, he jumped to the opposite direction. But it was cool, so, keep looking, maybe you may also see one kangaroo, or more than one, right? You may see more than one. We’ve just arrived at Proserpine station, but this is not our final stop.

The train stops here, but to get to Airlie Beach, we’ll take a bus now. This bus is already provided by the train company. When you buy the train ticket, you buy it up to Airlie Beach. So now we’re going to take this bus to get to our final destination.

After taking the train and the bus, we’ve arrived at Airlie Beach. In fact, we are going to another destination, but there will be more train trip. As we said before, this train goes to Brisbane. We’re going to show you a different train now, that we will also take

Here in Australia, so you can compare the two of them. Now that you know the Spirit of Queensland, we are going to show you the Tilt Train. It’s an electric train, and runs from Rockhampton to Brisbane. This part lasts seven and a half hours, but we are going to travel

For about four hours, from Maryborough West station to Brisbane. So, what are we doing at this station here? Well, actually this is the closest station to Hervey Bay and Fraser Island, both incredible places that you need to visit if you come to Australia.

Fraser Island is the largest sand island in the world, and Hervey Bay is the best place to see whales. However, in Hervey Bay or Fraser Island there is no train station, so this is the closest one. And of course people know that everyone wants to visit these wonders that are close by.

This way, the ticket already includes a shuttle, which you take right here, at the station, to get to the city center. Of course, the way back works the same way. Let’s see how the trip with the electric train in Australia will be. Let’s go! We got inside through this door.

Look at the landscape. It’s quite the same in many places here in Queensland. This is the place to put your bags. But there is a curiosity … Wow, it’s shaking… There are some spaces to put the bags you carry with you, and there others just for the checked luggage.

We checked our luggage before taking the shuttle in Hervey Bay. We did it there, which means that we are going to get our bags back just at the final destination. That’s cool! The small bag has some things we are going to use,

So we kept it with us and put it up here. It’s importante to say that in case you don’t want to check any bags, you can keep them with you, does not matter the size, just put them over here on your own.

This is a service offered by the train company just to help you. We thought it was really nice. There is a place here with drinkable water. You can refill your bottles and cups. This is wagon D, where we are. Pay attention to the number of your seat.

Press this button here to open the door. Let me show you the seats of this train. It reclines, not much, but it’s comfortable. There is a footrest, a tray, nothing much. Here you plug your earphones, there is a reading light, USB socket under the armrest.

The space is nice, very comfortable, more spacious than in an airplane. And traveling by train is awesome, don’t you agree? This is the lavatory. It is very spacious. There’s this huge mirror. The toilet is over here, and you can see there is a lot of space.

This is the place to take care of babies. Much bigger than airplane lavatories. Now they are taking the checked bags out of the train. They leave them in front of the wagons. There were announcements inside the train warning you about in front of which wagon your luggage would be.

Bags with us, time to take our way! Did you like our trips? Did you like the videos? So, if you are not subscribed to our channel, do it now, leave your like too and share this video with friends. See you soon, there’s a lot more coming. Bye!
