Many people like one-day trip, but we will stay there a little more, to show you everything. It is an incredible place, with impressive nature. We’ll show you how to get there, what to do and how to get back to Sydney. You can go by train. Train is here, and we will give you all the details about the lines. Right now, we are on a train going to Blue Mountains National Park, one of the greatest relics in Australia. Katoomba is the closest city to the Blue Mountains park. It is about 2 hours by public transportation. Many people hire a tour in Sydney, that can be done by car, bus or van, to go to the Blue Mountains, spend the day and go back. We want to do something different, on our own. You can do it the way you prefer and enjoy your day! It depends on where you are. You have to get to this line. From here it is straight to the Blue Mountains. It takes about 2 hours. Although the train is not very big, it’s beautiful and comfortable. There is not much space for luggage. We’ill show you how we arranged our bags, because we have many. When we took the train in Sydney, it was very crowded, we couldn’t even get seats together. As it goes a bit far from the city, some seats became available and we change. But it’s good. Traveling by train is amazing, right? Many people want to know how to move from one wagon to another. It’s different from train to train, but this one is very curious. Through this silver door we go to the front wagon. There is a warning for you not to travel here. This space is just for you to move from wagon to wagon. Let’s open the door and show you. It’s a bit scary, because you see the trail passing down there. Look at this! The train has 3 floors, and at this point you can go up or down. I’m going to go up and show you what it’s like up here. We managed to put the small bags and the backpacks in the luggage compartment. Only the big ones don’t fit here. Neither at the top floor nor at the bottom floor there are luggage racks like this one. If you just have a handbag or backpack, choose the middle floor, so you can put your luggage here, you don’t need to take it with you. The landscape changes a lot along the way. At first it’s more urban. Then, you see small towns, with those typical little houses, but there is still a little bit of nature. Now we are seeing huge and incredible valleys, forests, a lot of nature… In trains like this one, it’s not a problem to sit looking back. Very easy. Tiago is getting ready because we are in Katoomba. Inside here is hot, but outside is a little cold. We have to put on our jackets. The train is stopping. Let’s go. We’ve arrived at Katoomba after almost 2 hours travelling. This is the main point for those who want to visit the Blue Mountains, this wonderful place that we are about to show you. Don’t forget to validate your ticket every time you get in or go out the station, this way you pay the correct fare. If you don’t do this you will pay for the whole route, as if you had done all the route. And probably you will pay more, unless you have really done the whole route. We validade our ticket for the first time in Circular Quay, in Sidney, and now we are going to do this again in Katoomba to see how much we have to pay for this trip. This is the second floor, where our room is. You can see that the hotel is really classic, with carpet on the floor. After all, it was built in a 111 years house. Our room is just behind me. Number 8. Let me show you. You get in the room and immediately look at this huge window right in front of me. Beautiful. With spectacular view. Look at this scenery. I want to put a chair here and stay for hours just looking at this nature. Back inside the room, there is a bed here, or beds, because you can have two single beds, or they can become a double bed. The lampshades are in the back, with two paintings. This side, there is a wardrobe with a big mirror, which in fact reflects the landscape from the window, is it by chance? What do you think? Back here, having a look around the room, this side, an armchair, a lampshade, TV, DVD, some drawers. Look at the details of this table. It’s very nice to get in a hotel and be welcomed this way. This side, there are two chairs and a desk. Look up here. Things to prepare coffee. Inside here, a coffee maker, cups, and some spices. There are glasses too, a bottle of wine, chips, and down there a minibar. The minibar is full, with soda, beer, wine, water… A small window here, with the same view as the other one. And if the big attraction is the view from the window, we are going to show you a little bit more. Well, we are already in a hotel in Katoomba, now it’s time to eat. We came to this bar, next to the station, to eat pizza. Everyboody says the pizza here is great. We have already ordered, and are just waiting for it. The environment is cool, with music, and drinks. Let’s eat the pizza and them rest a little, because tomorrow is going to be a great day! Is that good? The first pizza is here. It’s a starter. What’s in it, Tiago? Cheese, tomato, onion, something green… and let’s eat. The pieces are small, but it looks really good. I’ll try now. Wow… really thin… delicious! This is the main pizza.
